Tomasina

As you may know, I’ve been working in a show called Red Carpet Memories at The Coterie in The Hollywood Renaissance Hotel. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some amazing singers and just really inspirational human beings. Broadway and film stars who have shown me what it is to be motivated and work, work, work for what you want. They are tireless in their quest and have been a beautiful example of how I too must be. So, I will be.

I sometimes worry and stress in my crazy profession, which is so insecure, about when and where and what my next job is going to be. The mystery of not knowing if I will ever “make it” or not is sometimes unbearable. BUT the freedom I feel to be able to do what I love for a living is beyond worth it.

This is a little note to thank you for being a part of my dream, my life’s calling, my work. Because of your support and encouragement, I am able to have the life I’ve always dreamed of….singing….for a living…as my job.

Wow!

As you may or may not know, I’ve been getting back into the musical theatre world as of late. I just finished dancing my booty off in “The Wedding Singer” at Musical Theatre West in Long Beach. It was such as blast. Right from the beginning of the show, it was as if we literally were shot out of a cannon doing the running man at the fastest speed you can imagine. Then, I got to put on a fat suit, as one of the table niners, in “Casualty Of Love” and dance a Thriller-esque dance whilst expressing my rage about not being loved! The whole show was filled with humor and fun spirit. It was really a fun experience……but

I MISS YOU GUYS at Tomorrowland! I’m so excited to be coming back this weekend(July 29,30,31) I know we’re gonna have a great time cause we always do. I haven’t decided what I’m gonna wear yet. I’m always torn between expressing myself as an artist and being comfortable. We’ll see. Plus, my boots are on they’re last leg. Last leg? I’ve had them for maybe 4 years now. Gotta get another pair. Well I’m looking forward to singing and goofing around with you guys this weekend.

Also, I wanted to tell you that I have decided to make a “covers” album.. Lot’s of you request a “CD” and I send you to my website, tomasina.tv, to download some originals for free, but I was thinking that maybe you wanted to own a recorded performance of what I do on the Tomorrowland Stage? So I’m doing it! Now……. I need suggestions. What are your favorite songs that I do? Which songs would you love to hear me do that I don’t do? Which song would sum up your whole “TOMASINA” experience? You get the point. Start sending your suggestions.

Haven’t these last shows at Tomorrowland Terrace just been electric? I feel like we are all on the same page emotionally when I’m up there and you’re out there. That you have been receiving my messages of love and I have been receiving yours. Big time.

I want our magic to last forever. That’s why I’m constantly adding new songs, wearing new outfits, and channeling a variety of big stars for new ways to entertain you. Because of you, it never fades! Thank you for your loyalty.

SINGING IN THE RAIN

I’ve ventured off into the world of musical theatre again and am now performing in Singing In The Rain at The Norris Theatre in Rancho Palos Verdes. Performances run Sept 24th through October 10th.

My idea is to continue to refine my theatre chops until one day I land a lead on Broadway. The big plan is to write my own musical as you know. But I will NOT be leaving you or the music scene.

CHRISTMAS ALBUM

I have always wanted to record a Christmas album. Maybe you didn’t know this, but Christmas music is my favorite kind. When I was a little girl, I used to listen to it year round. I liked the really traditional stuff and for some reason The Chipmunks really spoke to me. I haven’t decided on how many or which tunes I’ll be including, just that I am indeed doing it! Now you will be able to own a little slice of my heart via a Tomasina Christmas Record….made by me, right in my own home , for you.

Because you guys mean so much to me, I’d like to get your opinions on which songs you’d like to hear me perform. When I get a few recorded I would love your feedback. This record is for you. For your 2010 Christmas.

A reminder….that even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, it’s a feeling I’m trying to capture. That time of year when everyone seems a little warmer and tolerant towards one another. If you have a suggestion for a song that may not necessarily be a Christmas song, but warms your heart to hear it, I’d love to know about it.

SO MUCH UP MY SLEEVES THESE DAYS…..

I’m also going to be performing some special showcases in November and December featuring my original music and songs from my new Christmas Record. I would like a show of hands. Who will be there? In what city do you live? I am looking for an all ages quaint and warm venue.
